Seriously, what the heck are those?
Starroid Raiders were a weird little line of figures that came out shortly after Star Wars in '79. I guess they were trying to capitalize on the outer space craze going on at the time. They're sort of knockoffish but still quite original in their designs. People still collect them today and pay crazy prices.
I only found out about them after seeing ads for them while looking through newspaper microfilm in the library. I've seen a few niche toy websites out there with pages dedicated to them.
