This is no consolation, but at least it looks like the north pole there.

I was just feeling down because I miss making fried baloney sandwiches. I really have nothing to complain about. The food they serve here is great (and free) plus I have no living expenses. Heck, Chirstmas dinner yesterday was shrimp and lobster!

But I guess I was missing the little things, as does happen when I'm away from civilization for a few months. You'd think after all the time I've spent away from home over the past ten years I'd be used to it by now, but leave me out of the states for a while and I start craving stuff like those strawberry parfaits from KFC and Long John Silvers crumbs.

What's really funny to me is that long after I've forgotten about missing home I'll look back on the couple of seasons I spent down here fighting the war on Antarctica and I'll be proud of the little part I played. The significance of what it is we're accomplishing for mankind far outweighs the value of a Big Kids meal at Burger King (but just barely).

Sometimes I think the magnificence of this place is wasted on a dork like me because all I did while I was down here was write about toy robots and crave fast food.

Evil King Macrocranios was voted king by the evil peoples of the Kingdom of Macrocrania. They listen to Iron Maiden all day and try to take pictures of ghosts with their webcams.
