I'll be busy this week moving into the Palace of Eternia after 3 months of living in Castle Grayskull. It's a good opportunity to do a second annual NO WEBLOG FOR OLD ROBOTS WEEK. Except unlike last year when I put some effort into it, this time I'm just phoning it in. So enjoy this week's store appearances themed series of ads where various Floridian malls and marts from over 20 years ago rolled out the red carpet for a variety of guests hailing from Tatooine, Symbion, Eternia and wherever Donkey Kong comes from.
TODAY: K-Mart in Temple Terrace, Florida hosts He-Man and Skeletor on October 9th, 1985. Awesome line of the ad: "ROBOTO"!

What, no Orko? What a ripoff.
I would have love to see how they pulled this off. Were He-Man and Skeletor dudes in masks and puffed up body suits, or just two really buffed up guys.
Also, that sounded way more gay than I intended.
I'm really glad they don't do these sort of appearances anymore. Does anyone really want some big bastard Pokemon/Bakugan/ crowding an aisle? I don't.
That is, unless it was Darth Vader.
Heavyarms, Doctor Geektarded went to a He-Man appearance back in the day and blogged a picture. The costumes looked pretty good but the guys wearing them were a few inches shorter than they needed to be. It goes to show that in life you can be a little short for a Stormtrooper but He-Man costumes are pretty unforgiving.
